Hey man,

I was just listening in set format on soundcloud, and TDE is still my favorite :roll It has nice elements that catch the ear, and the kick has enough click going on to penetrate the mix and sits nicely with the hats and other percussion. :drinks

Very nice song.

In my opinion, the others need a dose of some vocal range sound to impose themselves on the listeners' ear. Or maybe just one of the atmospheric elements could be like 12 times louder? While the other tracks flow nicely, they didn't grab my attention like TDE does. Just my opinion though, and yours is the one that matters so...

Keep going bro!

Andy :crazyfly

I kind of like the style. It's similar to how I produce tracks.

A couple of hints:
  • Add some glitchy or wierd down beat effects/sfx.
  • have the synths with different versions that vary by the amount/type of effects on them over the course of the song.
  • Maybe add a drum roll build or drop. Typically in darkpsy it's just a fast take, versus the non climatic huge buildups of fullon.
That's all I can say. Nice track.

Thanks for listening and telling me what you think! The version up on Soundcloud has had minimal work done. I try to get the whole track finished completely (writing wise I mean) before I get down and dirty with technical stuff. I posted this up the day after I wrote it, so it definitely has some way to go before its really done-done. Im glad to see that it already has 15 listens after 22 hrs, thats more than any other track Ive put up!

I like to give it a few days after writing the track to listen again and work on the mixdown more, Ive found that if I try to work on it right away, the excitement of new sounds gets in the way of objective criticism. I get excited about new tracks... :P ;) Best to forget the initial 'whoa, awesome' so the inevitable flaws show themselves.
